私は東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科で博士課程を修了し， その後，東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科 電子情報学専攻の助教，講師を経て， 現在，英国リバープール大学計算機科学科の教授として 自然言語処理， 人工知能と機械学習分野の研究と教育活動を 行っております． 英国工学および自然科学振興会(Engineering and Physical Science Research Council)の科研費審査員を担当しております． 数学オリンピックスリランカ代表であり，スリランカの高等学校センター試験（GCE A/L)では30万人以上の受験者の中で３位の成績を収めました． 2000年に日本文部科学省の国費留学生として来日し，大阪外国個大学で日本語を学び，2001年に東京大学理科１類に入学しました． 学部，修士と博士課程を東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科で修了しました．特に，博士課程では東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科で初となる優秀研究業績 による博士課程短縮修了となりました．博士課程の期間中では日本学術振興会特別研究員となりました． 博士号獲得後，東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科電子情報学専攻の助教・講師として教鞭をとり，2013年に英国に渡りました． 私はシンハラ語（母国語）以外に，英語と日本語をネイティブ並みに扱えます．日本語でも複数の書籍を執筆しています．
